Salute to the beautiful sea goddess Mazu

Pinghai Bay, located in the beautiful and prosperous Putian, Fujian, is the birthplace of the belief in the sea god Mazu. At present, from Putian to Fujian, from the coast of China to overseas, and to 28 countries and regions, there are over 6000 temples dedicated to our sea goddess Mazu.

The sea goddess Mazu is the protector of the sea. Legend has it that if she calls for help from the gods in case of a shipwreck, she is called "Mazu" and will immediately come to rescue them.

The prototype of the sea goddess Mazu is Lin Mo, a common fisherman woman in Putian. Her spirit of bravery, helping the weak and the poor, rescuing from danger, fearlessness, and indomitable spirit has deeply integrated into daily life and been passed down to future generations.

The trend of future wind farm construction

The eastern coast of China has a developed economy and a wide distribution of electricity load. The sea area with a depth of 2-15 meters along the eastern coast is vast. According to the same method as onshore wind energy resources, the available wind energy resources at a height of 10 meters are about three times that of onshore, which is 700 gigawatts.
With the maturity and breakthroughs of offshore wind power technology, offshore will be a strategic and sustainable development hub for new energy in wind power for the next 10 years.
Construction data of Pingwan offshore wind farm
The Pingwanhai 50MW offshore wind power project is located about 1.5 nautical miles northeast of Luoque Island in Pinghai Bay, Putian. It is China's first truly commercial offshore wind farm.
The first phase consists of 10 units, using the Xiangdian XE128-5000 model. The single machine capacity is 5MW, with a wheel diameter of 128 meters and a hub center height of 81 meters.
Hunan Shiyou Electric participated in the design and manufacturing of the main control system for 10 wind turbine units in Pinghai Bay offshore wind farm.

Latest progress

At present, the wind farm has completed the pile foundation of a total of 10 wind turbines, the overall installation of 2 wind turbines, and the one connected to the grid this time is the No.1 wind turbine.
The first unit of Pinghai Bay connected to the grid for power generation has made a significant contribution to China's "offshore super project". Official media such as China News Network and People's Daily Online have reported and introduced the project under the title "Successful Installation of China's Largest Offshore Wind Turbine".



Shiyou Electric participates in grid connection debugging

Shiyou Electric was invited to undertake some of the commissioning tasks for the grid connection of the unit. Upon receiving the notice of imminent grid connection, the engineer arrived near Pinghai Bay within 24 hours and was fully prepared for standby. After 4 hours of intense commissioning upon arrival at the site, they excellently completed the grid connection task and received high praise from the customer.
The successful grid connection this time demonstrates the strong technical strength and fast operation and maintenance service capabilities of Shiyou Electric. In 2016, Shiyou Electric will continue to invest in research in the field of offshore wind power. We also hope to take the construction of Pinghai Bay offshore wind farm as an opportunity to achieve greater success in commercial offshore wind power projects.
